My name is Christine Bernasconi and I am your host at Gaia e Levante. It is important to me that you are comfortable and happy during your stay with us.
I am Swiss and was born and brought up in Lucerne. My mother tongue is German. I started my working life in the catering trade. At the age of 20, this took me to the swiss canton of Ticino, where I then lived with my family for 35 years. Here, I discovered my love for the Mediterranean way of life and my passion for Italy and its language.
It has always been my dream to create an oasis of well-being for travelers from all over the world. To create a little paradise where everyone is welcome and where they can find the time and space to unwind and enjoy the “dolce far niente”.
This idea kept growing and, in 2019, I decided to turn my vision into something real. I left the security of my job and set about making my dream come true. It was very important for me to find the right place for my project. Italy was always the strongest contender because of its diversity and its beauty. I feel a particular connection to Liguria, and so my search brought me here, to Deiva Marina.
And this was where I found, in the middle of the countryside, the exact place I had been looking for. I knew immediately that this was where I wanted to open my Gaia e Levante B&B and make my new home.
