Our B&B is in the middle of the Ligurian countryside. In this little paradise, you can relax while feasting your eyes on the green hills of Liguria. The sea glistens blue in the distance, and in the evening you can enjoy the impressive sunset from our terrace. Explore the surrounding area on foot or by bike. You will discover a multitude of paths that take you over hills and through forests, olive groves and vineyards. The coast offers breathtaking views of the glittering, turquoise sea and its bays and beaches that will tempt you to take a dip in the crystal-clear water.
Deiva Marina – your seaside resort on the Ligurian Riviera
Not far from our B&B is Deiva Marina with its wide sandy beach. The promenade is the ideal place to watch a spectacular, romantic sunset or to enjoy a perfect morning espresso.
The resort also has good transport connections and is the perfect starting point for excursions to other idyllic places in the Cinque Terre and the surrounding area by train, bus or boat. Popular destinations include Framura, Bonassola, Levanto, Moneglia and Sestri Levante.
The Cinque Terre – picturesque national park
The Cinque Terre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and consists of five sleepy, picturesque villages on the Ligurian Riviera, which for centuries were only accessible on foot or by boat.
Today, the villages can be reached by train, by boat or via narrow, winding roads. We would advise against going by car as parking is severely limited.
All five villages are connected by well-marked paths. Hike to discover the unspoilt countryside of the “macchia mediterranea”. A breathtaking view of the sea and the steep, rugged coastline are the reward for your efforts when walking in this nature reserve.
Tuscany – day trips possible
Would you like to go on an excursion to Tuscany? You can get to Tuscany in very little time from our B&B. Visit cities steeped in history, such as Florence, Pisa or Siena, and take inspiration from their cultural diversity and magnificent architecture.

Trekking
The Riviera di Levante:
The Riviera di Levante countryside between Genoa and La Spezia offers you countless opportunities for hiking, trekking and walks on old panoramic trails. In the past, some remote villages were only accessible on foot or from the sea.

The Golfo Paradiso:
This picturesque gulf stretches from Genoa to the Cape of Portofino. Some mountains, such as Cornua, separate the gulf from the Fontanabuona Valley.
The “sentiero verdeazzurro”; (green-blue trail) is one of the most important trails in our region, stretching from Genoavia via Sturla and Nervi, Sant’Ilario, Bogliasco, San Bernardo, Pieve Alta, Sori, S.Apollinare, Mulinetti, Recco, San Giacomo and Camogli.
The promontory of Portofino is a natural park and marine reserve, a very interesting but at the same time particularly challenging part of the “sentiero verdeazzurro” that runs from Camogli via San Rocco, past the headland of Punta Chiappa and from there via the Passo del Bacio, San Fruttuoso, Base, Prato, Portofino, Paraggi, Madonna delle Gave, Madonna della Neve to Santa Margherita.
The Golf of Tigullio:
From Santa Margherita, the “sentiero verdeazzurro” runs via San Michele di Pagana, S.Nicola, Rapallo, S.Ambrogio, S.Pantale, Zoagli, Rovereto past the pilgrimage church of Grazie to Chiavari.
As an alternative, you can take the panoramic path from Leivi to Chiavari, which leads past the pilgrimage church of Montallegro. The church of Montallegro can also be reached by cable car from Rapallo. From Chiavari, you continue via Lavagna, Santa Giulia, Cavi di Lavagna, Sant’Anna, Sestri Levante, Punta Manara, Riva Trigoso, Punta Baffe to Moneglia.
The Riviera of La Spezia:
The Gulf of Tigullio ends in Moneglia and there the Riviera of La Spezia begins. The “sentiero verdeazzurro” runs from Lemeglio via Castagnole, Deiva Marina, Monte Serro, Framura, Salice, Carpeneggio, Salto della Lepre, Bonassola, Torrente Rossola, Scernio to Levanto.
On this route, you can enjoy a fantastic panoramic view of the sea. These hills are less known than those in the Cinque Terre, yet they are a true natural paradise, and you are surrounded by wonderful scents and can enjoy the unforgettable view of the azure sea.
The Cinque Terre:
Past Levanto, the “sentiero verdeazzurro” runs via Punta Mesco, where the Cinque Terre begins, to Monterosso, Rio Molinaro, Vernazza, Prevo, Corniglia, Manarola, via the famous “Via dell’Amore”; romantic path to Riomaggiore, the last village of the Cinque Terre, but not the end of the trail.
This trail continues past Montenero and Campiglia to Portovenere.
The Ligurian mountain trail:
This trail is over 400 km long and extends from the French and Piedmontese border across the whole of Liguria to Emilia and Tuscany.
The trail reaches considerable heights in some parts, and with the exception of fewer routes, can also be traversed by mountain bike.
Other hiking trails:
Other interesting hiking trails can also be found in the Fontanabuona Valley, the Aveto Valley, the Graveglia Valley, the Vara Valley, the Magratal Valley and on the Gulf of La Spezia, in the Lunigiana, on Monte Marcello and in the Apuan Alps.
Deiva Marina is located in the heart of this picturesque landscape and can easily be reached both by train and by car (A 12 motorway). Train is undoubtedly the most convenient means of transport to visit the towns on the coast. Furthermore, there are various bus lines to the backcountry and with numerous boat rides, you can admire the beautiful steep coast from the sea.
Cycling and mountain biking
If you love cycling, Liguria is perfect for you. The wonderful landscapes, thousand-year-old villages and their old paths, churches and monuments are ideal for art, history and culture enthusiasts.
They can easily be reached by bike or mountain bike. For those who want to take things easier, we recommend using an e-bike. The rolling countryside is tackled in no time and you can enjoy the overwhelming panorama view. Whether beginner or professional, here you will discover the right terrain for you.
The cycle path from Framura via Bonassola to Levanto deserves its own storyline.
The beautiful path, which leads through the former railway tunnels from Framura via Bonassola to Levanto, will inspire you. You can take a look at the sea again and again through the rock windows. And you can take a small, well-deserved break on the beach of Bonassola to enjoy a good piece of focaccia or simply take in the sea atmosphere before continuing to Levanto. Here, having a light on your bike will definitely be helpful, as the tunnels are not illuminated.
Our B&B is ideally located. You start directly from our place with a small climb to Castagnola. Here the road leads to Costa and then downhill to the Framura train station, where the picturesque cycle path starts. If you are a mountain bike lover or professional, you can explore the villages of the Cinque Terre, Portofino and many other pearls of the Ligurian Riviera di Levante by means of a dense network of trails.
You can also freeride and downhill in Liguria. If you love thrills and have mastered these disciplines, you will get your money worth here: some routes between Portofino and the Cinque Terre are a mecca for freeride and downhill enthusiasts.
Motocycle
Liguria is an ideal destination for all guests who like cycling and hiking. Thanks to the rolling countryside and the roads along the picturesque coast, the region is also popular among all motorcycle fans. You can explore the Cinque Terre on a motorcycle by road.
One of our insider tips is the motorcycle tour starting in Deiva Marina along a magnificent road that leads down to the sea, through the middle of the Mediterranean maquis. The route winds its way past curves and bends to Framura and the beach of Valdacceca Mare and offers a breathtaking panorama view. Portofino is also ideally accessible by motorcycle. Drive towards Paraggi with Portofino Vetta as your destination. Steeply above the sea, follow the road along the rugged coast and enjoy the scent of pine resin and Mediterranean flowers.
The famous Passo del Bracco deserves special mention. It runs along the ancient Roman road Aurelia and connects La Spezia with Sestri Levante: 15 km of narrowest curves, hairpin bends and short straight routes are a delight for all motorcycle enthusiasts. And all around, you get quick views of the sea, picturesquely combined with mountain landscape brushstrokes, which can only be found in Liguria.
The Aurelia can also be travelled in the other direction. It leads to Riva Trigoso, Sestri Levante, Chiavari and Rapallo.
From here, you can follow another road to Santa Margherita and return to the Aurelia in San Lorenzo. From there, you can visit the villages of Ruta and Camogli. Alternatively, you can continue on the Via Aurelia along the Golfo Paradiso to Genoa. If you approach by motorcycle from the north, you can cross the Apennines, which separate Liguria from Lombardy, Tuscany and Emilia Romagna.
The Bocco Pass, the Cento Croci Pass, the Rastrello (or Rastello) Pass and the Cisa Pass are historical communication routes between the backcountry and the coast: In the past, they facilitated the trading of salt and typical products as well as wines and also served as pilgrimage routes.
If you are a motorcycle fan, our B&B is ideally located between Portofino and the Cinque Terre. Our property is fenced and you can leave your motorcycle in one of our parking spaces. For all guests who would like to go on a trip by motorcycle or moped, there is a rental near Deiva Marina.
